5 things / acts of kindness
My son Patrick and I have loved making daily videos about acts of kindness during the coronavirus crisis. This video had about 3000 views. But my favorite was this one, where Patrick shared some wisdom when I was having a hard time.
Here's what we learned this week:
Netflix is still paying cast for the TV shows and movies currently scheduled to be in production. They also set up a $100 million fund for the crew. All production has stopped.
Ford Motor Company stopped auto production and is now making face shields, respirators, ventilators, and other medical equipment for hospital workers. They are working in conjunction with 3M and GE Healthcare.
Walmart, Target and many other stores are giving their employees raises. Those front line workers are putting themselves at risk to ensure the rest of us get food and, of course, toilet paper. Now, if we can only get those raises to be permanent, not just temporary.
Have a 3D printer? I don't, but I'm inspired by the 3D printer-owning volunteers around the world who are printing face shields for hospital workers! Even a teen in Virginia got involved.
