#5ThingsILearnedThisWeek:
Procter and Gamble's Pampers brand is installing 5000 changing tables in male restrooms around the country - because, of course, dads change diapers, too...
The PHP Central Europe Conference was cancelled this week after several white male speakers publicly spoke out about the lack of diversity in the speaker lineup (there was none). Speaking out in this way is a great demonstration of allyship.
Ads from Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Volkswagen were banned in the UK this week for violating the country's new law against gender stereotypes. The cream cheese ad perpetuated the stereotype of bumbling dads, and the Volkswagen ad perpetuated the stereotype of passive women.
The CEO of Chobani Yogurt is a big proponent of hiring refugees, and 30% of the employees in the NY plant are immigrants and refugees. He's encouraging other CEOs to do the same to alleviate the refugee crisis.
Seventh Generation has big plans for the upcoming Global Climate Strike on September 20. They are giving their six figure ad buy to the Youth Climate Movement and giving their employees in 30 countries the day off work to strike.
