Emancipation: An Introduction to Juneteenth

This workshop delves into the history of Juneteenth, its contemporary significance, and ways in which organizations can honor and integrate its principles.

Participants will deepen their understanding of Juneteenth, feel empowered as allies for antiracism and inclusion, and acquire practical tools for fostering respectful dialogue and decision-making surrounding antiracism and inclusion initiatives within the organization.

  • Understand the historical importance of Juneteenth.

  • Explore Juneteenth's influence on social justice movements.

  • Gain strategies to advocate for antiracism and foster inclusion within the workplace.

  • Recognize the role of allies in amplifying marginalized voices and celebrating Juneteenth.

  • Learn and practice the ARC framework for respectful communication in discussions about antiracism, diversity, and inclusion.

This workshop is designed for employees of all levels. The presentation can be customized and can be delivered as either a 60-minute or 90-minute session.
